Scotiabank’s financial services roots date back to Nova Scotia’s trans-Atlantic trading business in the early 19th-century. The Canada bank expanded wherever its customers traded. By the turn of the century, Scotiabank had 38 branches across Canada, the United States and Caribbean Islands.

Small Businesses: Scotiabank officers have the expert advice, information and services needed to grow a business.  Services include: Banking Packages, Day-to-Day Banking, Borrowing, Investing, Protection, and the Business Succession Planning Scotia Professional® Plan is an all-inclusive banking package designed specifically for professionals in solo or group practice, associates, residents, and students pursuing a professional degree. Retail and Small Business Banking provides mortgages, loans, credit cards, investments, insurance, and day-to-day banking products to individuals and small businesses.

Alliances and Industry: Scotiabank has a number of alliances with small business and professional associations including CFIB. As well, Scotiabank has financing programs designed for agriculture, franchising, funeral and property management industries, and Aboriginal Peoples.

Business Services: The Scotiabank Group offers a full range of services to large and mid-sized businesses, from corporate and investment banking services to mid-sized business solutions. Wealth Management provides a full range of products and services, including retail brokerage (discretionary, non-discretionary, and self-directed); investment management advice, mutual funds and savings products, and financial, trust and estate planning, as well as private client services.

Scotia Capital: Scotia Capital provides corporate lending, equity underwriting, and mergers & acquisitions advisory services, as well as capital markets products and services, such as fixed income, derivatives, prime brokerage, securitization, foreign exchange, equity sales, trading and research, and precious metals through ScotiaMocatta.

International Banking: Provides a full range of financial services to more than five million customers through a network of 1,907 branches and offices, 3,509 ABMs, telephone and Internet banking, in-store banking kiosks and specialized sales forces. Scotiabank operates in the following geographic regions: the Caribbean and Central America, Mexico, Latin America and Asia.
